Liquiduus of ErCl₃-MgCl₂-LiCl Tenary System

Abstract

Abstract: The liquidus of ErCl₃-MgCl₂- LiCl ternary system has been investigated by meansof DTA.It was found that there are five surfaces correspending to the primary crystallizationof ErCl₃、Li₃ErCl₆、α、α₁、α₂ respectively,and six univariant lines related to the secondary crys-tallization in the esystem, The eutectic point is at 446℃(65.0% ErCl₃,18.5% MgCl₂,16.5% LiCl)and the peritectic point is at 470℃(56.0% ErCl₃,23.0% MgCl₂,21.0% LiCl).
