Abstract: The anodic corrosion rates of two low antimony-lead alloys (Pb-4% Sb, containing As,Se, Cu, and Pb-2% Sb, containing Cd, In) used as positive grid material for lead-acid ba-ttery were measured in cyclic charge-discharge tests at 3h discharge rate and 80% of disch-arge depth. The average cycle life of Pb-4% Sb and Pb-2% Sb was 692 and 529 cycles, res-pectively.The role of alloying additives on the anodic corrosion of the alloy and theireffects on cycle life of the batteries were discussed.
