Abstract: Diphenyliodonium fluoroborate(Ph2I+BF4-)is found to be an effective photoinitiator forthe cationic polymerization of epoxypolysilicone, and benzoin alkyl ethers can promote thisphotoinitiated polymerization. The order of promotion was: benzoin dimethyl ether>benzoinisopropyl ether>benzoin methyl ether.

Key words: diphenyliodonium fluoroborate, photoinitiated cationic polymerization, epoxypolysilicone, benzoin alkyl ethers
