Abstract: The following emperical expression was derived from the measurement of electrocon-ductivity x of HCl+H2O+CH3OH at 25℃ in the range of 0.002< mMHC1 <0.05 and 0.2< WH2O <1 (WH2O, grams H2O/grams solvent), x=[A0+A1(WH2O1.5expWH2O-0.7WH2O2)]mMHC1+10-5 This expression is capable of representing the conductance of a strong 1—1 electrolyte in various alchoholic aqueous solutions. By measuring the conductivity of the solution, analyzing the molarlity of the electrolyte through conductometric titration the composition of the solution can be conveniently determined with certain accuracy.
