Regulation of the Twelfth Editorial Board of

Chinese Journal of Applied Chemistry

 

Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1

Chinese Journal of Applied Chemistry (abbreviation: Chin J Appl Chem) is a comprehensive academic journal in chemistry. The journal is governed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and sponsored by the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) and the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC). It mainly focuses on organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science, life science, and information science. Its editorial board members are all renowned chemists and experts in related fields.

Article 2 Aims and Columns

1. Aims

It mainly reports on innovative basic research and creative scientific results in chemistry and inter-disciplines, providing top-notch and cutting-edge information, products, theories, and technologies to readers.

2. Columns

Review: Reviewing heated and frontier topics in chemistry on the basis of their potential for future application and the authors’ research;

Research Articles: Reporting innovative research results;

Communications: Reporting preliminary results of innovative research.

Article 3 Main Tasks

1. Review and discuss the guidelines, work plans and summary proposed by the editorial office;

2. Provide the editorial office with guidance in editing, publishing, issuing;

3. Hold academic conferences and promote academic exchanges;

4. Evaluate and award excellent papers published in the journal;

5. Review and determine advertisements published on the journal.

 

Chapter 2 Editorial Board Members

Article 4

Any qualified candidates, who recognize the regulation, nominated by the editor-in-chief, approved by the conference of editor-in-chief and agree with his consent, will be appointed as a member of editorial board by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy Sciences, then reported to the sponsor and administer for recording.

Article 5 Rights and Responsibilities of the Members

1. Have right to suggest and criticize;

2. Acquire free copies of the journal;

3. Have priority of publishing in the journal;

4. Participate in academic activities;

5. Comply with the board’s regulation, implement the board’s decision and finish the work commissioned by the board;

6. Offer suggestions on improving the journal quality, review the editorial office’s work report;

7. Submit and recommend high-quality papers, review important manuscripts;

8. Assist in promotion and publishing and provide technological and economic information.

Article 6 Withdrawal

1. Members may withdraw from the board freely;

2. Members will be considered withdrawal from the board if they do not fulfill their rights and responsibility for over a year without reasonable excuse;

3. Membership will be canceled if a member seriously violates this regulation or the Criminal Law.

 

Chapter 3 Organization

Article 7 The board has 40 members, consisting of one editor-in-chief, one executive editors-in-chief, four deputy editors-in-chief and several consultants. Members serve for four years and can be re-elected. The composition of the board should be adjusted reasonably considering their subjects, institutes, and ages.

1. Consultants

Consultants’ responsibility:

(1) Guide the work and policy-making of the board;

(2) Guide the board to promote domestic and international academic exchanges;

(3) Have right suggesting and criticizing all work of the board;

(4) Have right to recommend members to the board;

(5) Acquire free copies of the journal;

(6) Have priority of publishing in the journal;

(7) Exempt form page charges, which only limited to the first author.

2. The Board Meeting

The board meeting is held every four year and all members are required to attend. It may be held in advance or delayed if necessary. The main responsibility are:

(1) Set aims and scopes of the journal;

(2) Review the board’s report;

(3) Formulate and amend the regulation of board.

3. Editor-in-chief meeting

Editor-in-chief meeting is attended by the editor-in-chief and the deputy editors-in-chief. Its responsibilities are:

(1)  Formulate and review the board’s work plans;

(2)  Invite consultants;

(3) Nominate editors-in-chief;

(4) Discuss the nominations and recommendations of the board members;

(5) In charge of domestic and international academic exchanges;

(6) Recommend, select and award excellent papers, and active members;

(7) Hold the board meeting and assist sponsors in holding academic conferences, and report their work.

Article 8 Editorial Office

Based in the Changchun Institute of Applied and Chemistry Chinese Academy Sciences, the editorial office’s Responsibility are:

(1) Adhere to the conventional ethics on scientific journals;

(2) Responsible for soliciting contributions, editing, publishing and issuing;

(3) Sign technological and economic contracts on behalf of the board;

(4) Responsible for financial reimbursement and checking;

(5) Responsible for annual assessment and citation analysis;

(6) Report its work periodically.

 

Chapter 4 Expenditure

Article 9 Financial Source

1. Appropriation from sponsors;

2. Page charge and subscription fee;

3. Donation and technology development income including advertisement.

Article 10 Financial Management Policy

All financial work of the editorial office is carried out independently, such as creating an independent account with independent management and accounting.

The financial department of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry is in charge of the work of the financial management, and shall report it to the CCS, CAS, the board, and so on.

 

Chapter 5 Supplementary Articles

Article 11 Revision Procedure of the Regulation

1. The revision of the regulation should be suggested by the editor-in-chief, checked by the editor-in-chief meeting, and finally discussed in the board whether the revision should be adopted;

2. The regulation of the board should be revised every four years. The regulation must be implemented after the board meeting. Other affairs should be collected by the editorial office, carried out after the discussion of the editor-in-chief meeting, and reported to all members of the board;

Article 12 The editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Applied Chemistry retains the right of interpretation of this regulation.
