Abstract:

Based on the demands for green manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, the developing tendency of pressure-sensitive adhesive is focused on high performance, solvent-free, and biodegradability at home and abroad. The rheological and bonding properties of chlorosulfonation modified poly(propylene carbonate) (MPPC) are studied in this paper. The results show that the bonding properties and peeling strength of MPPC are strongly dependent on the number of average molecular mass. When the number average molecular mass of MPPC ranges from 7600 to 17500, the tensile lap-shear strength increases from (0.35±0.11) MPa to (3.78±0.33) MPa with the increase of the number average molecular mass of MPPC. The higher the number average molecular mass of MPPC, the higher the tensile lap-shear strength. At the same time, MPPC peel strength data also show the same trend, namely a high number of average molecular mass MPPC with high 180(°) peel strength, which can be applied to high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive materials. The results of rheological data further prove that the energy storage modulus (G') and loss modulus (G") of a high number average molecular mass MPPC are higher than those of MPPC with a low number average molecular mass. This provides a theoretical basis for preparing biodegradable pressure-sensitive adhesives based on PPC.
