Abstract: An acidic heteropolysaccharide, which is composed of xylose, mannose, galactose and glucose/glucuronic acid(mass ratio such as 0.1:1.1:1.0:1.2) and has molecular weight of 51.0?104,was isolated from the fruiting body of Auricularia Auricula-judae.The results determined by calorimetric method with carbazole, viscometry and GPC showed that the molecular weights and polydispersity indexes of the samples treated by ultrasonic irradiation decreased with the increase of irradiation time, and the glucuronic acid content did not show significant change.

Key words: auricularia auricula-judae polysaccharide, ultrasonic irradiation, intrinsic viscosity, glucuronic acid content, gel permeation chromatography
