CHEMISTRY OF BORATE IN SALT LAKE BRINE ⅩⅤ.THERMOCHEMICAL STUDY OF Mg-BORATES

Abstract: The enthalpies of solution of two Mg-borates(2MgO·2B2O3·MgCl2·14H2O and MgO·2B2O3·9H2O) in 0.997mol/LHCl solution were measured by using isoperibel reaction colorimeter.The standard enthalpies of formation of the two Mg-borate salts were obtained according to thermochemistry theory. The values are-8638.42kJ/tool and-5807.07kJ/mol separately. The standard molar entropy of MgO·2B2O3·9H2O was also given.
