FABMS OF LANTHANIDE COMPLEXES OF 2-ETHYLHEXYL PHOSPHONIC ACID MONO-2-ETHYLHEXYL ESTER

Abstract

Abstract: Fast atom bombardment (FAB) mass spectra of lanthanide complexes of 2-ethythexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester (LnL₃, Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Eu, Dy, Ho, Lu) werereported.The quasi-molecular ions [LnL₃·H]⁺ and a series of ion species [LnL₃·(HL)_n ·H]⁺(n = 1,2,3) are shown in FAB mass spectra.The mechanism of formation of the ionspecies are discussed.FAB, linked scanning techniques were applied in this work.
