Abstract: The influence of electrolytes on the stability of anionic dimethylpolysiloxane latex has been investigated. It was found that the stability of these latices towards electrolytes was greatly improved by incorporation with alkyl polyoxyethylene glycol monoethers. However, excess anionic surfactants would appreciably impair the stability of these latices towards electrolytes and, in this case, a much more amount of alkyl polyoxyethylene glycol monoethers is needed to prevent these latices from coagulation in the presence of electrolytes.
