Synthesis and Characterization of a New 1-D Zinc(Ⅱ) Dicarboxylate with Terpyridine-Like Chelates

Abstract:

One mixedligand complex of [Zn(tpa)(tripy)]n·nH2O( tpa=terephthalate, tripy=4′-(4-methyoxyphenyl)-2,2′∶6′,2″-terpyridine)\] was synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and thermo gravimetric analysis. The crystal structure of the product was established by single crystal X-ray diffraction. It is a onoclinic crystal with space group P21/c. a=0.855 0(2) nm,b=2.825 0(6) nm,c=1.096 0(2) nm,β=107.14(3)°,V=2.529 7(9) nm3,Z=4,Dc=1.541 g/cm3,Mr=586.88,F(000)=1 208. The complex consists of onedimensional Zigzag chain. Compared with the ligand, the complex exhibits intense photoluminescence.
