Abstract:

The oxidative degradation of sesbania gum by Fenton reagent was studied in the article. The effect of amount of H2O2 and Fe2+, reaction time and temperature on decreasing ratio of viscosity was investigated. The result showed that the appropriate dosage ratio of H2O2 to Fe2+ was 2︰1. In addition, the decreasing ratio of viscosity reached 90% with low temperature and short reaction time, which showed the high oxidative degradability of Fenton reagent for sesbania gum.

Key words: Fenton reagen, sesbania gum, oxidative degradation, viscidity
