Abstract
Fluorocarbon surfactant as the highest surface active surfactant shows a good potential in enhanced oil recovery area. The dilational rheological properties of perfluorooctane sulfonamide dimethyl ammonium ethanol sulfonate(FS) at the oil/water interface were investigated using the oscillating barriers method at low frequency(0.033~0.1 Hz). Many factors, such as the oscillating frequency, bulk concentration and salts, greatly affect the dilational rheological properties. The results reveal that the dilational modulus and elasticity increase and the dilational viscosity slightly increase as the dilational frequency increases. The dilational modulus passes through a maximum value with the FS concentration increasing. Additionally, adding a moderate concentration of NaCl can increase the FS dilational modulus, while adding CaCl2 or MgCl2 yields opposite results, and the concentration of CaCl2 or MgCl2 reaches to 0.05% and 0.1%, respectively, tan θ is less than 45°.

The dilational viscoelasticity properties of decane-water interface containing two demulsifiers with straight chain (SP169, octadecanol polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene ether) and branch chain (AE121, tetraethylenehexamine polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene ether) respectively were investigated by interfacial tension relaxation method. The dependence of dilational modulus on dilational frequency was expounded. Our results show that when the dilational frequency is lower, the dilational modulus of the two demulsifiers approaches zero; the dilational modulus of the two demulsifiers increases when the dilational frequency becomes higher in the range of medial frequency; and when the dilational frequency is much higher, the dilational modulus of the two demulsifiers reaches to a limiting dilational viscoelasticity. It is also shown that dilational modulus of the two demulsifiers approaches a maximum value near the critical micelle concentration. Along with the increase of demulsifier concentration, the number of relaxation processes gradually increases and the contribution of them also changes regularly.

The dilational rheological properties of a pair of structural isomers: sodium 2-propyl-4,5-dihexyl benzene sulfonate (366) and sodium 2,5-dipropyl-4-nonyl benzene sulfonate(393) at the air/water and decane/water interfaces were investigated by drop shape analysis method. The influences of concentration on dilational modulus were expounded. The experimental results showed that the 5-alkyl played an important role in the surface dilational modulus, while the dimension of surfactant molecule dominated the interfacial dilatinal modulus.
